What is our background?

Hoosier Energy Associates, Inc. or "HEA" as we are often called is specialized distributor / wholesaler of geothermal heating and cooling equipment and supporting products. We were founded in August 1982 in Warsaw Indiana by Michael Dilling our president and Chief Executive officer.

We have worked only with Geothermal systems for most of the 21 years we have been operating. During that time, we were the first organization to promote with great emphasis geothermal systems by working with an array of local dealers and utility personnel to sponsor seminars and meetings open to the public on the subject of geothermal heating and cooling. The professional dealer / contractors we began working with in 1982 are still some of our best friends.

A large number of the systems that were sold in the early days are still running and providing their owners with comfort at very low operating costs. We have had many 2nd time owners who, when moving or building a new home sought us out to supply their needs for heating and cooling comfort. It has been rewarding to have customers come up to us at home shows and tell how happy they are with their systems.

We are considered innovative in that we were the first distributor nationally to become involved with "direct expansion" or "waterless" geothermal in 1989. By 1992, DX geothermal was a full 50 % of our business as we spread out responding to dealer inquiries from greater and greater distances. Our staff has expanded and reduced as business climates will, but our customers have always benefited from our policy of customer needs first. Our product line has stayed rather constant during our 15 year history, but in 1993 we were forced to make sweeping changes in our product offering.

This was a dark time in our history and we lost a great deal of our dealer base. However, we have come back new, and re-formed, ready to meet the demands and opportunities of a new marketplace with different needs and forces.

When determining which product to begin offering in 1993, our major concern was finding a manufacturer that had the financial strength, years of experience and commitment to quality products and consumer satisfaction that was nearly equal to our own. We have truly found these attributes in Addison Products. They have been in business since 1949 and have a long history of quality products and dedication to customer satisfaction.

We have stayed with the DX geothermal concept and are part of an organization that manufactures and markets a greatly simplified and improved DX system that could take over the residential and light commercial market in the coming years. This equipment manufactured by ECR Technologies of Lakeland Fl., has enjoyed support from some high quality contractor/dealers since 1996.
